As soon as you get a labrador as a pet at your home for the first time, you will have a mixture of emotions. 1. Your Labrador puppy will urinate a lot within the first few hours. Since they come to a new place, your puppy might feel nervous and urinate. 
2. The first thing your labrador puppy will do after arriving is to sniff the house. They recognize a place mostly through the smell and hence will smell the house to analyze the area. 
3. A labrador puppy will not drink water directly. Kindly mix food with an adequate amount of water so that they have some water indirectly. 
4. A labrador puppy is always hungry. It might seem that no matter how much you feed them, their stomach's never full. 
5. Make sure that you don't overfeed your puppy. The first 48 hours with a new labrador puppy may entice you to feed your puppy to make sure they are not hungry. However, a pup's stomach is small and cannot digest too much food. So it is better to avoid overfeeding. 
6. Your Labrador puppy will sleep a lot, especially during the first 48 hours. 
7. Take your puppies for bathroom breaks after every half an hour. Puppies have no control over their bladder and might urinate on your carpet or floor. 
8. Kindly do not change your puppy food. Ask your breeder or adoption center about the kind of food they fed your puppy before you brought them home. A sudden change in diet might upset their stomach. `

10. Your puppy might get anxious as they leave their family to come to your home. Make sure you calm down your puppy by holding them close to your chest and playing some music. 
11. During the first 48 hours with a new Labrador puppy, please ensure that they sleep beside your bed. You can make a temporary bed for them or allow them to your own so that your pups don't feel alone at night. 
12. Play with your puppy and allow them to bond with you. The best way to bond with puppies is to play with them. So make sure you prepare yourselves with some dog toys. 
13. Make sure you don't leave your puppy alone during the first 48 hours. Your pups will leave their home to come to you, and they will require attention.
